What does online education look like?

In our online program, each Main Lesson is thoughtfully designed to nurture your child’s head, heart, and hands. Classes meet three times a week for 90 minutes, providing a rhythm that is both engaging and comforting. The Morning Lesson draws from traditional Waldorf principles and indications of Rudolf Steiner, founder of the Waldorf method. Students experiences approximately 100 lessons over the course of the year including festivals. parents enjoy personal support and community gatherings.

Creating a meaningful learning experience in a digital age

The lesson begins with a warm welcome, inviting every child to feel seen and part of the group. We open with the familiar morning verse, cultivating presence and gratitude as we begin our day together. Next come joyful songs, gentle movement through dance, and the melodious notes of the recorder. Reciting a poem together helps center our focus and brings a sense of shared wonder.

To review and deepen previous learning, children engage in creative ‘Free Rendering’—working with construction paper and art supplies to express concepts in their own way. This creative process allows ideas to blossom and gives each child space to bring their individuality to the lesson.

From there, we move into the heart of the lesson: the presentation of something new and exciting to explore. Children participate actively, practicing and refining both new and familiar skills, guided with care and encouragement.

Each child creates a page in their Main Lesson Book which can serve as a portfolio of their learning for the year. Through drawing, writing, or painting, your child records their learning journey in a way that is beautiful and meaningful—a keepsake of their year.

Storytelling is a central part of our lessons, sparking imagination and deepening connection to the material. We close each lesson with a heartfelt verse or song, carrying the sense of togetherness and accomplishment with us beyond our virtual classroom.

Every Main Lesson is designed to honor the child’s natural curiosity and creativity, all within a warm, supportive community—even online.
