Explicit Summer Reading
AUGUST
Reading Camps
Three Options for students who are emergent readers.
Students who know their letters and sounds and are beginning to sound out words benefit from explicit instruction in English reading. English vowels can make so many different kinds of sounds and there are rules to their behavior! Join one or all of these August Reading Camps to support reading independently.
Laura will use The Little House on the Prairie CookBook for each week centering a recipe. Students will learn a little bit about the pioneers and settlers, the characters of the story, and how they were homeschooled too.
Students will need colored pencils, a handwriting booklet, and a way to print out the student packet included.
